ZTE Axon 40 Ultra with UD selfie and 64MP triple cameras unveiled, Axon 40 Pro joins it
Xiaomi should take notes from zte. Mi12 is like a joke compared to zte 40.
The 30 Ultra had mediocre camera reviews with a similar triple 64 PM setup. Fringing, color shift and limited dynamic range is what I remember. So I’m not holding my breath that ZTE’s computer photography has improved a lot in a year.
I tried to find out the size of the imx787 sensor, I am convinced it is less than 1/1.3 inch.
Joe nodden, 9 hours agoIt would have been basically a perfect phone if they had only opted for a Dimensity 9000 instead.what you say is true but surely they will use the dimension
9000 in their next model: zte axon 50 ultra or maybe
zte axon ultra 40 se but i will wait for 100x zoom
like that of the p40pro plus + a 9000 dimension chipset
George399, 19 hours agoThe United States will ban any Chinese telecommunications company in the United States just because they are ChineseZTE is not banned from selling phones in the United States. They were in training. They were never invested in bringing their best devices to compete on American soil. I think the Axon 10 pro was available here, but I’ve generally only seen entry-level ZTE phones offered on carriers.
Their bread and butter in the United States was telecommunications. Not the handsets.
This 40 Ultra is perfectly powerful on paper but I hope it is when put into practice
Nd o is it IP rated??
8 gen 1 sucks…
It would have been basically a perfect phone if they had only opted for a Dimensity 9000 instead.
8K recording on a 256GB device with no other storage, which means in a few minutes it should all be transferred via USB, I really hope they use USB 3.0 and not 2.0 like other Chinese manufacturers in general 🙂
Hopefully at least a 512GB will also be widely available, but I’m afraid the heat of the S8G1 will be problematic somehow.
Whackcar, 20 hours agoYou have to admit that a frameless screen without any flaws (notches or perforations) looks absolute… moreBut the curve spoils everything a bit during use. This trend must stop, according to the current curve 🙂
2.5D is not bad for example 🙂

Anonymous, 13 hours agoXiaomi has this feature on every phone, from $100 to $1300I know. but it is the only series of axons which has one.

Much better with 3mm thick copper back instead of cheap trash glass
People are more than welcome and pay over £1000
indlvarn, 16 hours ago91/35 = 2.6x zoom. These Chinese are manipulating that it’s 5.7x optical zoom, but that matters… moreThey probably got this idea from Apple, because that’s exactly how Apple counted (or maybe still?) optical zoom, in their presentations, very misleading if you ask me but…
It looks decent and I’m definitely a fan of all screen phones, but I’m not a fan of square phones like this or the Ultra.
SVP images always look cloudy, dusty and blurry.
The Snapdragon 870 may be far more thermally efficient than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but the Ultra’s camera hardware is something I absolutely cannot miss, especially the 64MP periscope telephoto sensor. Also, $745 for 8/256? Samsung should really be worried as they can only give 8/128 and a small 6.1 inch screen with a small 3700mAh battery for the similarly priced S22.
