What Copenhagen GK said about Erling Haaland revealed by Grealish
Jack Grealish has made leaps and bounds in his second season at Manchester City.
The dynamic and inventive England star struggled with the spotlight in his record-breaking British move to the Etihad Stadium last year, but now appears to have settled into Pep Guardiola’s style of play.
Although fans are still eagerly awaiting the flurry of goals and assists they saw from him at Aston Villa, there’s no denying he’s getting better with every game in sky blue.
Grealish and Haaland are thriving at Man City
What’s more, that upward trajectory was there for everyone on Wednesday night as City extended their 100 per cent Champions League record so far this season against Copenhagen.
The Premier League champions ran away 5-0 winners thanks to goals from Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez, an own goal from Davit Khocholava and a brace from a certain person that only made Grealish’s life a lot easier.
We are of course talking about the one and only Erling Haaland who extended his City record to a barely believable 19 goals in just 12 games with two more strikes in midweek.
And although Grealish did not become a provider for any of the finishes on this occasion, it was nevertheless clear that the two City stars are loving every minute of their football together at the moment.
What did the Copenhagen GK say about Haaland?
As such, when Grealish was put in front of the BT Sport microphone for his post-match interview, it was inevitable that Haaland’s scintillating form would be discussed as well as his own.
In what made for a generally captivating conversation in which it was nice to see the always likeable Grealish looking genuinely positive and excited, the 27-year-old also spoke about how great Haaland is at the moment.

In fact, Grealish even revealed that Copenhagen goalkeeper Kamil Grabara – formerly of Liverpool – joked that Haaland wasn’t human after being so impressed with one of his goals.
“It’s amazing, honestly,” Grealish told BT. “I have never seen anything like it in my life. For the first and second goals, I was just laughing. He is always there.
“The guard said something to me as I was coming back. He said, ‘He’s not human.’ I said, ‘you tell me.’ I hope he can continue this form and take us to glory.

Everyone is blown away by Haaland
You can just hear the way Grealish talks about how blown away he is, as we all are, by his jaw-dropping start to the season.
After all, it’s getting to the point where every man and dog is struggling to figure out how to stop the Norwegian phenomenon.
And when his own teammates are also scratching their heads, it couldn’t be clearer that all the ingredients are there for Haaland to win one, two, three or even more Ballon d’Or trophies in his career.
Add to that the fact that many of the players around him are also thriving with Grealish proving the perfect example and we dread to think how many goals he could have scored next summer.
