Realme Cobble bluetooth speaker review: this laptop justifies its price
Portable wireless speakers can be a great audio companion for people on the go. One example is the Realme Cobble Bluetooth speaker. This is a small wireless speaker with water resistant construction for worry-free use even by the pool, beaches or cafeteria with food and drink spread across the table – basically the places where you would hesitate to use any of your electronic devices. In addition, the speaker has a built-in microphone. So you can use it to extend the audio setup of any bluetooth enabled device for loud and clear voice calls. Priced at Rs 1,799, the Realme Cobble Bluetooth speaker is more than it looks.
Starting with the design, the Realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker has a small pebble-shaped body no larger than the size of an average palm. The small speaker form factor and lightweight (200g) construction make portability easy. The top of the speaker is covered in a fabric mesh with a single dynamic audio driver and a passive bass radiator hidden underneath. The edges and bottom of the speaker have a plastic construction with a rubber finish. These allow it to sit firmly even on uneven surfaces. There is no need to place the speaker on an object, you can even hang it up using a cord supplied as a standard accessory with the speaker and its charging cable. Speaking of charging, the speaker has a USB-C port with a waterproof cover covered for protection against water ingress. The speaker is rated IPX5 for water resistance – it’s not rugged but good enough to handle minor water splashes.
When it comes to performance, the speaker’s 5W dynamic audio driver has a fuller audio output – thanks to its passive bass radiator, which amplifies low frequencies. There aren’t any fancy features here like Sony’s Live feature which expands the acoustics for a live concert experience. Even audio codes are limited to SBC and AAC. However, for a budget portable speaker, the audio performance of the Realme Cobble Bluetooth speaker is quite good. The usefulness of the speaker is complemented by its built-in microphone, making it a good external audio device for voice calls and video conferencing. The microphone is sensitive and picks up voice even from a distance. However, it is not better suited for use in an environment with high ambient noise.
The performance is complemented by the time on battery. On a single charge, the speaker will work for approximately seven hours when used for calls and music. While the time on battery was ok, the charging time could have been better – it takes around two hours for the battery to fully charge from scratch.
The Realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker is a budget portable and sonic wireless speaker. Its lightweight, portable form factor is accentuated by rugged build quality. Despite the lack of some fancy features, the speaker audio impresses with a more comprehensive output – ample volume, crisp highs, fine vocals, and deep bass. Overall, the Realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker is a great fit as a portable wireless audio speaker.
