Rangers game receives ‘crazy’ Celtic verdict as Hoops star sends urgent recall to block noise

Anthony Ralston says Celtic are trying to take the ‘craziness’ out of games with Rangers as they close in on the Premiership title.

The Hoops take on rivals Glasgow for the fifth and final time this season on Sunday in a match that is sure to decide this year’s top berth.

A win for Celtic would put them nine points clear with three games to go, while a victory for the Light Blues would put them back in the mix, although they would still need to close a three-point gap.

Ange Postecoglou’s side won the last league meeting between the two, but Rangers got their revenge and knocked Parkhead’s side out of the Scottish Cup on Easter Sunday.

These matches tend to be fiery and Ralston knows that will likely be the case again this weekend.

Despite all this, the Bellshill-born star – who attended Airdrie’s All Saints Primary School – says the only focus they have is on their performance.

He said: “It’s a derby game and they are crazy. In these games things happen and we are aware of that.

“We’ve all been through it this season and we know it’s a game both teams want to win.

“But we take all the madness out of it and focus on ourselves as a team, focus on our football and don’t let the noise get in the way.

“We focus on ourselves and we focus on the three points and go out and play our football. We know it’s a great game, but our mentality as a team is that we don’t treat it any differently than other players. other matches.

“We’ve prepared well and trained well and we’re all in a good position as a team and we’re looking forward to it.”
