Design and construction of Oppo Reno 7:
The design of the Oppo Reno 7 is the highlight. The device is carved in a metal casing. The back design of the Oppo Reno 7 is unique and looks premium. It is very sturdy too. The back of the device is made of metal and has a unique color gradient. The camera housing is also made of metal. The right side of the device has a power button, the left side has a volume controller.
The bottom of the device has a USB-C charging port as well as a conversation grid and SIM eject tool. The speaker grille design is not horizontal but rather unique. The top of the device only has a noise-canceling microphone. There is no headphone jack on the device.
The Oppo Reno 7 has a triple camera setup. The main camera has a 50MP main lens with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. There is also a 2MP macro lens. The camera works perfectly with proper optimization. It can zoom up to 20x digitally although there is no telephoto lens. The front camera of the device works perfectly. Though front camera beautification is enabled by default.
As far as the photography is great, the videography isn’t that great. The phone is capable of recording 4K and 30FPS videos. But the dynamic range is not great. Dynamic range works much better when an ultra-wide camera lens is used. There should be a 16MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP macro lens, for the flagship price.
Oppo Reno 7 display:
Oppo Reno 7 has a 6.4-inch 90Hz panel. This panel is the same one that was in the last generation of Reno, the Reno 6. The display is not too bright. Although in direct sunlight it is just visible. At the flagship price, Oppo could have offered a 120Hz panel. The display on this device isn’t great, although the best flagship phones have a better display.
The device is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor which is 6nm. It is an energy-efficient and well-tuned chipset with this device. The Reno 7 runs on Color OS 12, which runs on Android 11. There may be bloatware out there. Some additional operating system features may not be used. The same operating system was seen in the OnePlus 9RT.
Battery and Connectivity: Oppo Reno 7 has a 4500 mAh battery which can be charged with a 65W fast charger. The company announced that the battery 0-100% in 35 minutes. The phone has all types of sensors. It supports Wi-Fi 6 as well as Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC.
Final Verdict: Oppo Reno 7 is not a display-centric device and does not perform well in videography either. There are various devices in this price range, which are much better than Oppo Reno 7, such as OnePlus Nord 2, OnePlus 9RT, etc.
