Ola S1, Ola S1 Pro Electric Scooters India Cross-selling Rs. 600 crores on Day One, Says CEO Bhavish Aggarwal


The Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters crossed Rs. 600 crore in total sales in a single day, Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said. The electric scooters were launched in India on August 15 and went on sale for the first time on Wednesday September 15. Ola Electric claims to sell four scooters per second during the first 24 hours after the online purchase window opens. Both Ola electric scooters are equipped with a 7 inch touch screen. Deliveries of the Ola electric scooters are expected to start in October.

Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO and Co-Founder of Ola Electric took to Twitter to announce that the trip aggregation company receives reservations for at least four electric scooters every second. He also urged potential buyers to hurry with reservations before the company “runs out of scooters.” In a separate tweet, he claims that the value of the Ola electric scooters sold on the first day (Rs. 600 crore) is more than what the entire two-wheeler industry sells in one day. Bhavish Aggarwal said September 16 will be the last day for consumers to purchase the electric scooters. Ola Electric has yet to share the number of reservations received on the first day of the sale.

Interested buyers can book the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro through the company’s website by paying Rs. 20,000 as an advance. They will have to pay the remaining amount before the delivery of their Ola S1 or Ola S1 Pro. Delivery is scheduled for October. The company says that customers who have booked their Ola S1 or Ola S1 Pro electric scooters can cancel their reservations at any time prior to shipment.

Ola S1, Ola S1 Pro price in India, specifications

Ola’s new electric scooter comes in two battery configurations: a 2.98 kWh battery on the Ola S1 Vanilla and a 3.97 kWh battery on the Ola S1 Pro. The Ola S1 can be purchased for Rs. 99,999 (ex-showroom) and the Ola S1 Pro can be purchased for Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom). These two prices are shown without the subsidies that electric vehicles can get in different Indian states.

The Ola S1 electric scooter has a claimed range of 121 km and a top speed of 90 km / h. Ola S1 Pro achieves a claimed range of 181 km and a top speed of 115 km / h. The Vanilla Ola S1 has Normal and Sport driving modes while the Ola S1 Pro gets Normal, Sports and Hyper driving modes.

Ola electric scooters also have a 7 inch touch screen with multiple microphones, AI voice recognition algorithm. He’s running Ola Electric’s MoveOS. An anti-theft system, geo-fence and fire-retardant battery are the security features available in both Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro.
