Burns & McDonnell Relaunches Internationally Award-Winning Quarterly Magazine with High-Tech Touches | Insights and news
KANSAS CITY, Missouri— Reference, a Burns & McDonnell magazine featuring projects, trends and ideas in engineering and construction, is back as a digital-only publication after a hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic. It consists of stories, interviews, videos and more featuring some of the industry’s top thought leaders on issues challenging businesses and communities across the country.
For the first time, Reference readers can become listeners with the smart audio feature. With the click of a button, you can choose to listen to the story rather than read it, whether you’re viewing content on your desktop, laptop, or mobile device.
The digital magazine is the next iteration of a publication that dates back to 1926, when the company’s 13 engineers chose the name “BenchMark” because of the meaning of the term: something that serves as a standard by which others can be measured or judged. Today, the digital offering features stories, visuals and videos that capture the essence of what’s happening in our industries and showcase the unwavering solutions and people needed to move forward. The magazine, which is innovative, forward-thinking and solutions-oriented, gives voice to our customers, community members and opinion leaders. It challenges conventions, shares discoveries and creates resolutions.
“Reference has been a staple of our company’s history for a long time, and while we’ve shifted to align more with the habits of the modern reader, our goal remains the same: to educate and engage readers, spark conversations, and inspire connections. with others facing similar problems. challenges,” says Melissa Lavin, director of corporate marketing. “We are thrilled to share this resource, as we are all working towards the same goal of improving our communities, our critical infrastructure and our quality of life. »
Each quarter, the award-winning IABC Gold Quill magazine tackles a theme that features cutting-edge dialogue on some of the world’s hottest issues. For the first quarter of 2022, digital articles break down the details of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
