Austrian Audio announces two new headsets for gamers and businesses

Notice to all players! High-end headset and microphone manufacturer Austrian Audio has used its considerable expertise to create a few new headsets for gaming and professional use. The two new products are the PG16 Pro Gaming Headset and the PB17 Professional Professional Headset and they both share much of the same technology found in Austrian Audio’s award-winning Hi-X65, Hi-X55 and Hi-X50 pro headphones.

Both headphones use Austrian Audio’s acclaimed 44mm Hi-X drivers which can accurately reproduce a frequency range from a 12Hz rumble to a 24kHz squeal and with zero latency. With the PG16, gamers can hear gaming soundtracks with clarity and high-resolution audio as well as spatial audio to quickly locate even the quietest sounds. Meanwhile, professional users can get the same levels of detail from the PB17 for excellent speech intelligibility as well as fatigue-free listening thanks to the closed-back design.

Austrian Audio has equipped the PB17 and PG16 with a professional-grade boom microphone that transmits the user’s voice without clipping, stuttering or muffling. The boom mic automatically mutes when taken out of the way. PG16 users can also utilize New Audio Technology’s included Spatial Sound Card software for dynamic 7.1 surround sound.

The PB17 is designed for professional office and corporate use, but Austrian Audio says it’s also ideal for listening to videos and music. The closed design of the PB17 prevents sounds from entering or escaping the earcups. Calls can be made without distraction thanks to passive noise cancellation. Additionally, the PB17 features a high-quality boom microphone that mutes simply by flipping it up. The PB17 can be folded up and stored safely in the supplied carrying case.

Austrian Audio claims that the PG16 meets the highest demands of gamers with high-resolution sound and a foldable design. The sturdy metal construction of the headband and hinges ensures maximum stability and durability. The soft ear pads are made with special ‘slow retention’ memory foam and the headset’s low weight of just 265g ensures comfort even during long gaming sessions. noise passive and eliminates ambient noise so gamers can fully concentrate on their game.

Both headsets connect using the included 1.4m cable terminated with a 3.5mm jack. The PB17 includes a 3.5mm (1/8″) TRRS to USB-A adapter while the PG16 includes a 3.5mm (1/8″) to 2x 3.5mm (1/8″) TRRS adapter TRS.

Price and availability: The Austrian Audio PG16 gaming headset is available now and costs $169 / £129 / €139. The PB17 Professional Headset is also available immediately for $169 / £119 / €139.
