Hi Renee –I must compliment you on your rub and regular sauce – it was a big hit at my house this weekend. We celebrated my Dad’s 85th birthday on Sunday and I smoked 3 racks of baby back ribs. The night before I applied your rub and then every hour or so during the smoking process I applied the sauce. My dad loves baby back ribs and commented that this was my best effort to date. I even had smoke rings – I was so proud. I know you guys probably laugh at the simplicity of my efforts, but for me it was a grand achievement with all my family in attendance. I am a BBQ snob....plain and simple. I have learned over the years that all BBQ is not created equal; some is moist and flavorful and some isn't. Among those that are moist and flavorful there are varying degrees of deliciousness (otherwise known as the D-Factor). To make it into the D-factor world, the BBQ must be outstanding to begin with. But, as we all know, there is some that is simply more outstanding that others. A D-factor 1 is delicious and a D-factor 5 is, frankly, mind blowing good to the point if you don't get your regular ration, you may find yourself wandering the street late at night looking for anything that even remotely resembles BBQ...like a slim jim or beef jerky or something else that that is barely recognizable as food. Q2U Catering is a D-factor 4. I would put less than 3% of all BBQ in this category. Everything is outstanding from the pulled pork, to the cole slaw to the baked beans. Plus the folks at Q2U are some of the nicest people I have ever met.
